Surprise! You've been fired? I hope not...

Well, I came home the other night to this:

What the heck is Donald Trump doing in my apartment?? It nearly gave me a heart attack.  I thought about screaming when I discovered him, but as I continued to think about it, I decided I wasn't that scared.  So I took a picture instead.

I think I'm going to dress him up as the Easter bunny. Mwahaha.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!  Enjoy this wonderful video about our Savior, Jesus Christ.  I want to personally say that I know that He lives, that He died for each and everyone of us, and that He knows you personally.  Everyone can come to know their Savior on a very personal level.  He is just waiting for YOU to act! :)  He loves you!

More Easter happenings here!

Sock Bun

I tried doing a sock bun in my hair. I saw a tutorial on pinterest and I was curious to see if it really worked. Here is the tutorial:
sock bun

I made to alterations to the tutorial.
1. I used a clear hair band at the beginning when I started to roll my hair around the sock
2. I used bobby pins to secure the bun to my head at the end

It worked surprisingly well.
Here is how it turned out:

It's Caitlin's Birthday!

Caitlin is turning old this year!  I can't believe it. I mean, just look at this picture of when she was my little sister.  Now, she just doesn't seem so little anymore.  But do you see the mischievousness in her eyes and in her actions?  Don't worry...it is still there.

Can I interest you in how AWESOME this girl is?

#1: She is the nicest person I have ever met, and likely, who you have ever met.  Seriously...she is just so kind, loving, generous, and tender hearted.  She is the sweetest thing since Girl Scout cookies.  (...and I am a HUGE fan of Girl Scout cookies, but an even BIGGER fan of Caitlin!)

#2: She is amazingly creative.  First of all, she just has an eye for design.  When she picks up a paintbrush, art flows naturally out of it.  When she starts sewing, creative genius leaks out.  When she picks up a musical instrument, beautiful music fills the air.  She is a woman of many talents.

#3: She is SO much fun to be around.  We always seem to laugh when we are together.  It usually results in tears due to the enormous amounts of laughter.

#4: She has an incredible testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  She lives it.  You can see it in how she acts and in the things she does.  She is an amazing daughter of God.

#5: She is one of my best friends.  She is someone with whom I can talk openly.  We laugh together, cry together, and have a TON of fun together.  I love any opportunity I get to hang out with my "little" sister.

Here's to you, Caitlin!! Happy birthday and may this year be even better than ever!

Love, Erin

I Care about this ALOT.

What is an alot you may ask? An alot is an imaginary creature that someone from hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com made up to help them deal with their compulsive need to correct other people's grammar. It kind of looks like a cross between a bear, a yak, and a pug.

For example, if you read the sentence "I care about this alot," this is what you should imagine:
Here are some of my other favorites:

Dedicated to a Ridiculous Promise

{Please excuse any sarcasm that may be in this next blog post}

Did you hear about the moon base that Newt Gingrich wants us to have? If you have not please watch the video:

I am {totally} voting for him. Purely based on his idea for a moon base.

New Goals

Sometimes, it is time to make new goals.

It happens anytime life starts falling into a routine.

But usually, my goals tend to explode into wild dreams.  I just can't seem to tame them.

Such as:

My goal to travel.  New York, Paris, Tokyo...anywhere.  Get me out on the road! Or on a plane to somewhere new.  Ryan and I hope to go to Paris or Tokyo in a year or so.  Fingers crossed.  It would be amazing.

My goal to graduate college.  Oh wow.  This one feels so far away.  With a full time job, it is hard to work a schedule in for school.  I hate it.  I checked classes for next semester.  Looks rather impossible.  I may have to work something else out.

My goal to one day (not in the nearest future, mind you), to be a mother.  Oh man, thanks to Primary, I have discovered that I have low patience.  Perhaps I need to start learning patience now.  Also, the thought to be a mother scares me.  I am not ready now. but it is a dream and a desire of mine.  Just not quite yet...But I should start learning motherly qualities in preparation for that day.

Caitlin's and my goal to update the blog more so.  We have been slacking.  And it is sad.

A goal to go through my wardrobe and create new clothes and outfits from the depths of my closet.  Who says one has to keep buying new things to keep things fresh? Besides, I am poor.  I have enough clothes that I never wear.  Wear 'em or lose 'em, I say.  Well, I try to tell myself.

Be more adventurous.  Stop being afraid to spread your wings and try new things.  There is always, always, ALWAYS room for growth in this area.

My goal to one day write a children's book.  That has been a goal of mine that I have had for years, but have since put on the back burner.  It is time to whip it back up and start writing again.  It has been so long, and I used to enjoy it so much.

Actually...speaking of writing, I think I'm going to get off of this right now and begin writing again.  I need to.  What? I am writing, you say?  You're right.  But I'm still leaving you.

Goodbye for now.

Projet Garcon

"Projet Garcon" or, in English, "The Boy Project", was officially accomplished on January 14th, 2012.

Now what is this boy project, you may ask?

Well! Let me tell you!

Many moons ago, I came up with a brilliant idea.  I was contemplating one day about how much money a guy spends from the moment he starts dating until he gets married.  Seriously.  We are talking about thousands of dollars spent on dates, wooing, and flowers.  Lots and lots of money here.

So! What I decided to do, was that I would start to take the money that was spent on me and put it in a separate savings fund.  Yea, even match the money spent.

For example, if a guy took me out to dinner and paid roughly $35 for the both of us, I would take $35 of my own money and stick it into my "project garçon" account.  I know, it sounds like a lot, but I mean, if the guy has the money to do it, why wouldn't I? In the process, I would not only be saving a bunch of money for my end result, but I would also be conscious of the effort the guy has put into the date, and the sacrifice he has made.

Now, the plan was that on the day that I got married, my new husband would receive the final amount.

I gave Ryan $511.13.  I started this project back in July, and this was the acquired amount.  If only I started it earlier, could you imagine the amount that would have come up?  It was such a fun project, and the reward of seeing the look and astonishment on Ryan's face was priceless.  SO much fun to see how shocked he was when I told him about my "Boy Project".

What about you? Would you try out the Boy Project? Or do you have an idea of your own?

Snow Day.

Today it snowed.

The alarm went off around 7:35.  We slept in until 8:30.  Take that alarm clock.  I blame the weather.  It seems whenever there is miserable weather, your body just KNOWS and refuses to get out of bed.  I finally made it out...Ryan was still trapped underneath the blankets.  Finally, we both made it out alive, and made it to 9 a.m. church.

But the snow...

Oh the snow!

I think we'll move to someplace warm, thank you very much!  Like here:

Jelly Beans

Here is a video that our brother Grant shared with us the other! It is a sweet song and the video is amazing. Who would have thought jelly beans could be so cool?
